Director, Business Programs (Calgary)

Job Description
This senior-level position has three primary elements:
- Based on identified client needs set out in the Clinexus business plan, manage all aspects of business program design, implementation, delivery, client satisfaction and budget.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Alberta-based health technology firms to ensure that they are utilizing all of the appropriate resources available to them from a wide range of service providers (including Clinexus) with the objective of advancing the clients’ business growth
- Develop and maintains collaborative relationships with a wide range of service providers located within area of geographical responsibility (i.e. Calgary & southern Alberta)
Some of the key tasks related to these elements include:
- Responsible for full life cycle of province-wide, business-focused programs including design, development, execution and success measurement
- Budgetary responsibility for all aspects of programs including budget design, expenditure sign off and reporting
- Contract negotiation, hiring, oversight and termination of local, regional or international expert consultants brought in to deliver program elements
- Provide front-line assistance to entrepreneurial health technology companies in the form of advice
- Provide client pathfinding services which will direct clients to the most appropriate resources available across the province, based on an evaluation of their business and readiness for growth
- Work in close partnership with counterparts in Edmonton and the executive director to ensure coordination of clients and program approach
- Accountable for operations and measurement reporting associated with all activities
- Identify new program opportunities
- Liaise with a wide range of partners in the network
- Perform public outreach presentations
- Contribute to the growth and timely maintenance of a shared organization-wide database of clients and service providers
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in a related field with a minimum of 5 years project management work
- Experience with small/medium companies is required
- Graduate degree (preferred) with an educational focus on business, engineering or health/medical is ideal; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with and/or experience in the health technology sector required
- Communications & marketing experience an asset
- Familiarity with industry, government, NGO, and health sector stakeholders.
- Background in product management design and/or development and technology commercialization
- Showcase/demo and outreach experience
- Attributes include: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Capable of juggling multiple tasks; Strong time management and organizational skills with a track record of meeting commitments and deadlines; A positive team player who is able to develop and foster strong working relationships with staff and external groups as well as an ability to develop critical partnerships.
- Special employment conditions: Provincial travel as well as occasional national and international travel will be required; This is a term position until March 31, 2013 with a likelihood of renewal.
Quality System Coordinator (Edmonton or Calgary)

Job Description
This junior-level position has three primary elements:
- Coordinate client company ISO 13485 documentation to ensure a successful audit and certification process
- Support the operation and maintenance of the Quality Management System as required.
- Support clients in investigating non-conformances, defects and process failures in order to identify areas in need of process improvement.
Some of the key tasks related to these elements include:
- Assist ISO Manager with the delivery of province-wide, ISO 13485 initiative including design, development, documentations, execution and success measurement.
- Work with client companies to ensure that all necessary ISO documentation requirements are met and that Standard Operating Procedures are implemented.
- Work in close partnership with Clinexus team members to ensure coordination of clients and program approach.
- May be asked to perform public outreach presentations.
- Contribute to the growth and timely maintenance of a shared organization-wide database of clients and service providers.
Desired Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a related field; advanced degree may be considered as a substitute for work experience.
- Interest in ISO 13485 and other regulatory issues in small/medium companies.
- Graduate degree (preferred) with an educational focus on business, engineering or health/medical is ideal; equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Familiarity with and/or experience in the health technology sector desired.
- Ability to read and understand ISO, Health Canada, FDA and related standards and regulations.
- Technical skills to enable critical review of product development and testing processes and methods.
- Ability to communicate in technical matters with clients (SMEs).
- Familiar with Microsoft Office products
- Actively participate in ISO audit program (Internal and External)
